Phil Marshall's 9/11 lead made him a marked man...

The "hot lead" that retired United Airlines pilot and 9/11 researcher and author Philip Marshall was pursuing at the time of his gunshot death in late January, along with those of his son Alex and daughter Macaila, made him a "marked man" in  the eyes of those who knew what the subject of Marshall's next book was about.

On March 29, as Marshall's ashes were being scattered in Lake Pontchartrain in his home town of Mandeville, the Calaveras County Sheriff's Department decided to issue a press release on their yet incomplete investigation of Marshall's death. The Sheriff concluded beyond a shadow of a doubt that Marshall killed his two teenage children as they slept, himself, and the family dog. The report claims that Marshall shot himself in the right side of his head even though WMR's interview with the first witness who found Marshall's body in his Murphys, California home described an entrance wound to the left side of his head (Marshall was right-handed).

The Sheriff also wrote that Marshall was dismissed as a pilot in 2006 because of manic behavior. The record shows that Marshall was medically retired by United Airlines in 2003 for a bad knee. He then  moved to Murphys from Santa Barbara for seclusion in order to write three books, the first a docu-novel about his experiences as a CIA contract pilot during the early Iran-contra scandal days flying around CIA and Drug Enforcement Administration key informant Barry Seal, titled "Lakefront Airport," and two later books on the 9/11 attack.

In its press release, the Calaveras County Sheriff's Department, whose spokesman Sgt. Chris Hewitt, claims is just as professional as any police department's detective unit, misspelled Marshall's name several times, citing him as "Phillip" Marshall, when his name is spelled with one "l" as Philip. For example, the following is one sentence in the press release: "
Phillip Marshall suffered a 'point blank' gunshot wound to the right side of his head." So much for their "expert" detective abilities.

Based on interviews with individuals close to Marshall, as well as others familiar with Marshall's angle of research, WMR has determined that Marshall was expanding his investigation of the role that the Marana airfield near Tucson, Arizona played in training the four Saudi pilots who reportedly flew the two Boeing 757s and two Boeing 767s used in the 9/11 terrorist attack scenario and that this information was known to congressional investigators who cited it in the Joint Senate-House Intelligence panel's still-classified 28-page chapter regarding the Saudi government's involvement in 9/11,

As evidence that Marshall committed a double homicide of his two children and suicide, the Sheriff's press release states that on "January 27, 2013 Phillip [sic] Marshall purchased a distinctive type of Fiocchi brand 9 millimeter handgun ammunition from Big 5 Sporting Goods store in Sonora." Marshall had previously joked with friends that although he owned a 9 mm Glock he lacked any ammunition for it and said it wouldn't do him much good if he ever needed to use it. However, in the weeks before his death he told friends that he "had to watch his back" because of new "shocking information" he had obtained on 9/11. WMR can now report for the first time that based on statements of those close to Marshall, the "shocking" information that was to appear in Marshall's fourth book came from principals of the Iran-contra scandal who made contact with Marshall in the months before his death.

The "shocking" information is centered around pre-9/11 activities at the Pinal Airpark, part of the former U.S. Army Airfield in Marana, Arizona and which is sometimes referred to as the "bone yard." Pinal stores retired commercial aircraft because of the dry climate which preserves the planes for potential future use. An adjacent "bone yard" at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base stores retired military aircraft. The Pinal complex is used to train U.S. Special Forces personnel, as well as civilian pilots. The facility, which was once the largest aviation facility run by the CIA and its contractors, is the host of the U.S. Special Operations Command's Parachute Training and Testing Facility. A Navy SEAL team member was killed in a parachute training accident at Marana on March 28 and another SEAL was seriously injured.

In his last media appearance, on Coast to Coast AM last November, Marshall told host John B. Wells, "I have some connections that remain in the spook world . . . “There’s a lot of contractors out there. Blackwater is one of ‘em. There’s quite a few other operations. So I was getting information from, it’s a pretty tight circle. Aviation’s a pretty tight circle in itself, but this particular strain of pilot, we keep in touch. Let’s just put it that way and I started getting hints of this Pinal Airbase from about three guys that worked in that field. I have to be very careful about that because they still provide information to me.” Marshall added, "“many times people try to take pictures of that airport and they’ll send a car out there and confiscate the camera and all kinds of bad activities . . . long-time CIA-operated airport. There’s a lot of controversy about trying to shut it down years ago. People that are on the board of directors are CIA people. So it has a long connection. All the way back to Air America." Marshall took photographs at the air park during past visits to the facility.

Marshall also continued to maintain contact with other pilots, some of whom continue toi fly for major airlines.

Marana also hosts the Western Army National Guard Aviation Training Site or WAATS, which is located at the Silverbell Army Heliport
within the Marana complex.
The Marana base is also used by the British Army as a training site for the AH-64 Apache Attack helicopter.

During the Vietnam War, Marana was the headquarters for the CIA proprietary airline, Intermountain Airlines. Two other CIA contract airlines, Air America and Air Asia, also operated out of Marana. Another CIA airline, Evergreen International Aviation, acquired Intermountain, at least on paper, in 1975. However, Intermountain continued to operate out of Marana, as well as Mena, Arkansas and Lakefront Airport in New Orleans, during the Iran-contra days. That is when Marshall, who flew CIA and DEA operative Seal on special drug courier and anti-Sandinista intelligence gathering missions, became associated with Intermountain. Marana is where the CIA, through Intermountain, developed and tested the Fulton surface-to-air recovery system, an extraction system deployed on Intermountain aircraft to attach to and hoist agents from hazardous locations.

Marana is adjacent to the Barry M. Goldwater Air Force Range where U.S. and foreign military personnel train in air-to-surface strafing, bombing, and rocket firing. However, the test range has also been used by the CIA and U.S. Special Forces to train various forces in firing shoulder-launched ground-to-air missiles of Western and former Eastern bloc design and manufacture. For example, as revealed in this reporter's book "Decade of Death: Secret Wars and Genocide in Africa 1993-2003," the Goldwater range was used to train members of the Rwandan Patriotic Army in the use of Soviet portable surface-to-air
IGLA launchers that would later be used to shoot down, on April 6, 1994, the French plane carrying the Presidents of Rwanda and Burundi home from a peace summit in Tanzania. The assassinations were intended to trigger off the Rwandan genocide.

Other foreign irregulars who have trained at the base include Afghan mujaheddin fighters and Nicaraguan contras. All were trained in the use of terrorist tactics. One individual who was trained as a pilot at Marana and an intelligence interrogator at the nearby Fort Huachuca Army Intelligence Center was accused 9/11 lead hijacker Mohammed Atta and that the training involved a firm close to the CIA and Bush family. On August 21, 2012, WMR reported the following:

"WMR previously reported that alleged 9/11 hijacker Mohammed Atta received training from a company owned by U.S. Federal Judge Mark Fuller, the judge who sentenced former Alabama Democratic Governor Don Siegelman to 78 months in prison. On August 10, we reported: "Fuller ran a company that helped train alleged 9/11 lead hijacker Mohammed Atta. In 2001, Fuller was ostensibly a full-time state district attorney running an office based in his hometown of Enterprise in the south-central part of the state. But he was also CEO of Doss Aviation, Inc., based in Colorado Springs, CO, an affiliate with overlapping ownership of the flight training school, Professional Aviation. The companies trained Air Force and international pilots."

WMR also reported from multiple unconnected sources that Atta was often seen at Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama and there were initial reports from the U.S. Air Force that a "Mohammed Atta" attended the International Officer’s School at Maxwell but later tried to recant the report by stating in "may [emphasis added] have been a case of mistaken identity."

It has now come to light from a former U.S. Army intelligence operative that from late 1998 to early 1999, Atta received training at the U.S. Army Intelligence Center in Fort Huachuca, Arizona. Specifically, Atta's training included interrogation, counter-intelligence, and training administered to COLTs (Combat Observation and Lasing Teams). The CIA maintains that it did not start monitoring Atta's activities in Hamburg until early 2000 and that he did not move to the United States until June 2000.

In 1998, Atta was reportedly receiving financial assistance from the Carl Duisberg Society, a philanthropic educational foundation that supported cultural exchanges between Germany and the United States. Atta, according to Der Taggespiegel of Berlin, taught seminars to students on North African affairs. The Spanish paper El Mundo reported that in 1998 Atta may have been attending the Valencia School of Medicine using an alias. Professors at the school stated that Atta could not have been involved with radical Islamist cells in Hamburg at the same time they saw him in Valencia. In fact, there were several unexplained absences of Atta from Hamburg in 1998 and there were a number of unconfirmed reports that he must have gone to Afghanistan for training with Al Qaeda. The 9/11 Commission concluded that Atta could not have gone to Afghanistan until late 1999."

Our report continued: "Even more astounding, the information that Atta had been trained at Maxwell and Huachuca was known to the team of Army and other military service personnel assigned to operation ABLE DANGER, a deep data mining program staffed out of the Army's Land Information Warfare Activity (LIWA) at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. ABLE DANGER was abruptly terminated by the Bush administration and, specifically, the Defense Department under Donald Rumsfeld, some four months before the 9/11 attacks.

Then-U.S. Representative Curt Weldon (R-PA) told a joint hearing of the House Armed Services Committee on Strategic Forces and Terrorism, Unconventional Threats, and Capabilities on February 16, 2006, that 99 percent of the data collected on Atta and the other alleged hijackers was destroyed after the Pentagon's termination of ABLE DANGER.

On September 11, 2009, WMR reported that operation DORHAWK GALLEY, an associated intelligence program that worked in tandem with ABLE DANGER and was also shut down four months prior to 9/11, 'may have involved surveillance of U.S. and Israeli operatives who were coordinating their efforts with the lead hijackers and their cells in the United States and abroad.'

In fact, some six months before 9/11, ABLE DANGER personnel briefed Army intelligence personnel in training at Fort Huachuca that they should expect a terrorist attack within the continental United States in six months and that the United States would subsequently be at war. No specifics on the terrorist targets and the means of attacks were given at the time but the briefing was highly classified, according to our source.
Atta, a Lt. Col. in the Egyptian Air Force, had been associated with covert U.S. intelligence flight training and Israeli counter-intelligence elements in Venice, Sarasota, Lantana, Ope-Locka; Key West, and Jacksonville, Florida; Norman and Bethany, Oklahoma; Lawrenceville, Georgia; Teeterboro, New Jersey; San Diego; Las Vegas, Nevada; and Angeles City, Philippines.

In his early days as a CIA informant, Iraq's Saddam Hussein was trained in counter-intelligence and interrogation practices at Fort Huachuca, according to a former U.S. Army intelligence agent." Another reported trainee at Huachuca in the late 1970s, according to a U.S. intelligence source, was Osama Bin Laden, a major interface between the CIA and the Egyptian, Yemeni, Libyan, Sudanese, and Syrian Muslim Brotherhood for volunteer Mujaheddin fighters for Afghanistan. These fighters were later trained in the use of Stinger shoulder-launched weapons at the Goldwater firing range, administratively attached to Luke Air Force Base.

WMR has now received new information that indicates that Marana, the subject of Marshall's intense scrutiny, served as a major planning base for the 9/11 attack.

From U.S. intelligence community sources, WMR has learned that Saudi
Prince Khaled bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz
, the current Saudi Deputy Defense Minister and who attended the Air War College at Maxwell Air Force Base in 1980 while also studying for a master's degree at nerby Auburn University Montgomery campus, initiated the establishment of the Saudi Air Force by starting its pilot training program at Maxwell. The training was later expanded to Columbus Air Force Base in Mississippi. The firm that received Saudi, as well as Egyptian, pilot training contracts was the CIA-connected Doss Aviation, which also maintains a major presence in the Tucson-Huachuca-Marana aviation and intelligence complex.

According to U.S. intelligence sources, Prince Khalid arrived in the United States in January 2001 for a "special mission." Khalid spent time at Maxwell Air Force Base. Khalid, who is very close to now-retired General Bowen Ballard, a U.S. Air Force Reserve Intelligence officer and, reportedly, affiliated through his past Alabama financial businesses, including Colonial Bank, with the CIA, set up a scholarship fund in honor of Ballard at Auburn. Auburn has become an intelligence planning center with the planning for the uprising against the Assad government in Syria being planned in a joint program between Auburn and the Air War College at Maxwell. In 1980, while Khalid was at Maxwell, Ballard, a reserve Air Force officer, was attached to the 7602nd Air Intelligence Group where he specialized
in "Evasion and Escape" for military personnel assigned to special operations. Described by intelligence insiders as a major player in the U.S, intelligence community, Ballard served as mobilization assistant to the Director of the National Security Agency and Chief of the Central Security Services at Fort George G. Meade, Maryland.

Professional Aviation Training Service LLC, the Doss-affiliate, was set up a year before 9/11. On September 10, 2007, WMR reported: "One of the members of Professional Aviation Training Services was listed as Cobro Corporation, as well as a Fuller firm that has contracts with the Department of Defense, Doss Aviation. Cobro was de-listed with Alabama on April 27, 2004, with the President listed as Robert Topping of St. Charles, Missouri. Cobro's principal business was listed as 'Consulting' with an office in Daleville, Alabama. A press announcement from Westar Aerospace & Defense Group, headquartered inb Huntsville, Alabama, states that Cobro was acquired by the firm on August 1, 2000. Cobro is described as a "a logistics services firm with $15,000,000 in sales, and employs 250 professionals in St. Louis, MO, Huntsville, AL, Aberdeen, MD, Ft. Rucker, AL, Ft. Campbell, KY, and numerous other domestic and overseas locations." Topping became Westar's Vice President and Chief Operating Officer."

Alabama Republican Senators Jeff Sessions and Richard Shelby, as well as then-GOP Representative Terry Everett, reportedly earmarked lucrative military contracts to Westar's Huntsville operations.

Mohammed Atta was also trained at Maxwell and was frequently seen at the Maxwell Officer's Club where he identified himself as Lt. Col. Atta of the Egyptian Air Force.

Continuing, our report stated: "In 2001, British Prime Minister Tony Blair privatized the British Ministry of Defense's Defence Evaluation & Research Agency, creating QintetiQ. In February 2003, Carlyle Group acquired a minority stake in QinetiQ for $78 million. Carlyle made $500 million out of its original investment after QinetiQ was floated on the London Stock Exchange. Tony Blair's windfall profits for QinetiQ, arranged by his sale of an establishment created and funded by the British taxpayer, will have lucrative results for Blair. He is strongly rumored to become an international advisory board member of Carlyle, joining his predecessor John Major.

Westar was acquired by QinetiQ in September 2004. Judge Fuller an original partner of Cobro, has reportedly benefited personally from the mergers and acquisitions involving the British government and Carlyle Group, the venture capital giant for which George H. W. Bush once served as an official, along with the Bin Laden family . . . QinetiQ's non-executive director is George Tenet, CIA director under Clinton and George W. Bush."

Westar, the affiliate of Professional Aviation Training Service, maintained an office in Mesa, Arizona at the time it was affiliated with the CIA-linked Doss. In an earlier sweetheart deal, Shelby, Sessions, and Everett gave Westar tax free ownership of an 80,000 square feet former U.S. government facility in Huntsville.

Carlyle, the current owner of the 9/11-related CIA front companies, including those responsible for training Atta and the other Saudi pilots at Marana, has as one of its major shareholders Al Waleed Bin Talal, one of the richest men in the world whose holdings extend into most American media firms, including News Corporation, ABC News, and AOL/Huffington Post.

Marshall was also reportedly investigating Jeb Bush's role with the Saudis and 9/11. Bush's current office on Brickell Avenue in Miami is being provided to him by the Saudi government, according to an informed source. In addition, Siegelman was aware of the Alabama ties to the Saudis and the role the Saudi government played in 9/11. It is the major reason why Talal has insisted that the Obama Justice Department and Saudi interlocutor Fuller keep Siegelman in federal prison.

Talal has leverage on Barack Obama. Talal is a major stockholder in Citigroup, for which Richard Parsons once served as chairman. Parsons, who has been close to the Rockefeller family and was a friend of Stanley Ann Dunham in Hawaii, was also the person, along with Talal adviser
Dr. Khalid Abdullah Tariq Al-Mansour, who arranged for Obama to attend Harvard Law School. Talal is also an avid partridge hunter. In 1981, when Obama was reportedly partridge hunting in Sindh, Pakistan with two Pakistani friends from Occidental College, Hasan Chandio and Muhammadmian
Soomro, they were joined by Talal and his party, which included Prince Khalid, the first Saudi Air Force pilot whose mentor was the CIA-linked Ballard, and one of the CIA's yop recruiters among Arabs for the CIA Muhajeddin army, Osama Bin Laden. In essence, Obama, who was actually on an early CIA mission to Pakistan thanks to the good offices of his Columbia University international relations professor, former Carter administration National Security Adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski, became friendly with some of the same individuals who would later help facilitate the 9/11 attack. As President, Obama has shown no desire to re-investigate the attack and has rejected a request by former Senator Graham for a new investigation and declassification of the missing 28 pages in the joint congressional report on Saudi government involvement in 9/11.

WMR also discovered that Marshall had been in contact with Graham. In his novel, "Keys to the Kingdom," Graham's fictional character, former Senator Billingsley from Florida and the former Senate Intelligence Committee chairman, is killed by a truck after he passes sensitive information about the Saudi government role in 9/11 to an investigator.

Marshall is now being demonized as a crazed killer of his children and himself. It is a classic CIA operation to divert attention away from his actual assassins and the Calaveras County Sheriff's Department is aiding and abetting the commitment of a capital crime.
