Brief bio of FBI agent who was recently arrested on "child porn" charges...

Speaker's Bio for Donald J. Sachtleben
 

Donald J. Sachtleben began his career as a Special Agent with the FBI in 1983. His first assignment for the FBI was in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he conducted foreign counterintelligence and counter terrorism investigations. In 1985, he transferred to the San Francisco office, where he specialized in terrorism and bombing investigations.

In 1990, Mr. Sachtleben was trained and certified as a Bomb Technician at the Hazardous Devices School in Huntsville, Alabama. Since then, he has provided advanced training to local, state, federal and international law enforcement officers on bombing crime scene investigations and explosives render safe procedures.

Mr. Sachtleben served as one of the crime scene team leaders at the World Trade Center bombing in 1993 and the Oklahoma City federal building bombing in 1995. In April, 1996, he coordinated the search of Ted Kaczynski's (the UNABOMber's) cabin in Lincoln, Montana.

In June, 1996, Mr. Sachtleben was promoted to the position of Supervisory Special Agent in the FBI Laboratory Explosives Unit. In that position, he served as a team leader at the bombings of the Khobar Towers in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia (July 1996), the United States Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya (August 1998), and the USS Cole in Aden, Yemen (October 2000).

Following the events of 9/11, Mr. Sachtleben provided crime scene assistance at the crash of United Airlines flight 93 in Somerset County, Pennsylvania. In August, 2004, Mr. Sachtleben was named as coordinating forensic examiner for all evidence submitted to the FBI Laboratory in the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks.

Mr. Sachtleben has testified as an expert witness on improvised explosive devices in state, federal and international courts. In January, 2007, Mr. Sachtleben transferred to the FBI field office at Indianapolis where he served as the bomb technician coordinator for the FBI in the state of Indiana. In September, 2008, Mr. Sachtleben retired from the FBI and formed his own company, Raptor Consulting LLC. He now provides training and security consultation to government agencies and private sector businesses in the areas of counter terrorism and bombing
prevention.
